Approved Snack List

The Hawthorn District 73 Approved Snack List was developed by the Whole Child Wellness Committee and the Administrative Team to help create a safe and manageable opportunity for students to enjoy a healthy snack during the school day.

General Guidelines

  • Snack time happens during the school day.
  • Label the snack with your child’s first and last name.
  • No sharing of snacks.
  • Students eat snacks in their own learning spaces.
  • Generic or store brands are welcome.
  • If a snack is not on this list, it will be sent home.
  • Some items may not be allowed in certain classrooms because of allergies. Your teacher will tell you if there are changes.
  • If your child needs a different snack for religious, cultural, or medical reasons, contact your building administrator or classroom teacher to request an accommodation.
