About Lincoln
Location
All preschool programs for Hawthorn School District are held at Lincoln Early Learning Center, located at 200 W. Maple Ave, Mundelein.
Program Details
- Duration: Each program is 2 1/2 hours long.
- Sessions: AM and PM sessions vary by class (see specific programs below).
- Age Range: Programs are designed for students aged 3 - 5.
- Curriculum: All programs utilize the Creative Curriculum Program, based on the Illinois Early Learning Development Standards. They are play-based, enhancing and mastering skills in various areas through play.
Programs Offered
Structured Teaching Preschool Program
This program uses Structured Teaching methodology for students who qualify for an Individual Educational Program (IEP) due to developmental delays requiring intensive, structured programming. It focuses on functional language and sensory regulation.
- Class Size: Maximum of ten students.
- Staff: One teacher and two paraprofessionals.
- Sessions:
- AM: 9:00 - 11:30 am
- PM: 1:00 - 3:30 pm
Self-Contained Early Childhood Preschool Program
Designed for students with an IEP due to developmental delays, this program provides a supportive learning environment.
- Class Size: Maximum of ten students.
- Staff: One teacher and two paraprofessionals.
- Sessions:
- AM: 8:15 - 10:45 am (Monday - Friday)
- PM: 12:45 - 3:15 pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) and 12:30 - 3:00 pm (Wednesday)
- Placement:
- Children aged 3 and young 4 years are in the AM session.
- Children aged 4 and 5 years are in the PM session.
- Placement may vary.
Blended Preschool Program
This program is funded by the Preschool for All Grant and serves students at-risk of failing to be successful in Kindergarten without preschool intervention.
- Class Size: Maximum of twenty students.
- Staff: One teacher and one or two paraprofessionals.
- Sessions:
- AM: For families living North of Route 60.
- PM: For families living South of Route 60.
- Placement does not vary.
Bilingual Preschool Program
Designed for Spanish-speaking students, this program is also funded by the Preschool for All Grant and serves students at-risk of failing to be successful in Kindergarten without preschool intervention.
- Class Size: Maximum of twenty students.
- Staff: One teacher and one paraprofessional.
